Rising indemnity costs have been an increasing source of concern for general practice for a number of years. In order to address the concern, and ensure general practice remains an attractive long-term career option, the Department of Health and Social Care recently introduced a more stable and affordable state indemnity scheme for the system.
This series of General Practice Indemnity podcasts is hosted by Nick Rogers, a senior policy and strategy lead at NHS Resolution. Throughout the series Nick is joined by various guests across the healthcare system to take a closer look at the new schemes for general practice and what this means for the beneficiaries.
In episode one, Understanding the Clinical Negligence Scheme for General Practice, Nick is joined by Keira Moulds, the Head of Primary Care at NHS England and NHS Improvement and John Mead, the Technical Claims Director at NHS Resolution to look at why the Clinical Negligence Scheme for General Practice (CNSGP) was launched, what cover is provided under the scheme and how it is funded.
