Scorecard user guide for members

Date published:

To support member organisations to make the best use of their scorecards – the interactive tool in an Excel format that provides members with an analysis of their organisation’s clinical and non-clinical claims – we have created an animation that explains how scorecards are used. This was launched on 11 May and is available to members via our extranet.

The ‘Using your claims scorecard’ animation will support users to make the best use of the data held in their scorecard, by sharing information within their organisation, identifying themes and priority safety areas and facilitating the use of scorecard data alongside other data sets, to build a broader picture of patient safety.

Because the scorecard draws on confidential and privileged information relating to claimants, it is essential that proper care be taken in the dissemination of any scorecard information. For this reason, NHS Resolution needs to be consulted on any proposed sharing of the scorecard content outside of each individual member trust and its legal advisers.

As is standard practice, a fictitious example was used in our animation.
