NHS Resolution is delighted to welcome Dr Freya Levy who joined this week as our Emergency Medicine Clinical Fellow on a year-long secondment (Monday 11 February 2019).
In 2017/18 NHS Resolution identified a shift in clinical negligence claims, with the majority of claims by number being attributed to the emergency medicine rather than orthopaedic surgery specialty, as witnessed in previous years.
Dr Levy will examine claims that patients and families lodge against the NHS regarding to their treatment following contact with emergency medicine services. Working with the Safety and Learning team and wider healthcare system, Freya will produce a thematic review of claims that will help drive improvements in patient care and safety.
