Our Appeals service has recently published Factsheet 6: Primary Care Appeals statistics 2024/25, which provides a breakdown of its activity and case outcomes for 2024-25.

Of note, there was a 31% increase in the number of new cases received during the year; 361 cases compared to 275 in 2023-24. There were 131 pharmacy ‘market entry’ appeals compared to 33 in 2023-24 and 63 pharmacy payment disputes compared to 10 cases in 2023-24.

As part of its commitment to openness and transparency and in order to support learning across the system, all of the Appeals service’s substantive decisions for 2024-25 are published on the PCA Decisions Archive.
