NHS Resolution has published its Business plan 2024/25, outlining its financial and service delivery goals for the third and final year of its strategic plan, Advise, Resolve and Learn: Our Strategy to 2025.
The business plan reflects NHS Resolution’s four strategic priorities to resolve issues in a fair and timely manner; use data to improve healthcare; improve maternity outcomes; and invest in staff and systems.
Delivering Fair Resolution remains a core objective, with efforts to streamline dispute resolution processes for healthcare professionals and minimise the need for formal proceedings. NHS Resolution will also refine its approach to Covid-19 claims handling and closely monitor potential changes to personal injury compensation regulations.
Sharing Data and Insights is another key focus. NHS Resolution will continue to disseminate valuable learnings from claims data across the healthcare and justice systems. This includes hosting events and collaborating with stakeholders to promote positive change in litigation practices.
Collaboration to Improve Maternity Outcomes is a critical area. NHS Resolution will continue to evaluate its flagship Early Notification Scheme and Maternity Incentive Scheme, assessing their impact on clinical outcomes and family experiences. Additionally, it will work closely with their Maternity Voices Advisory Group to ensure families receive effective and compassionate support.
Investing in People and Systems is an ongoing priority. NHS Resolution will focus on completing its two major change programs to further streamline operations and deliver best value. This area is expected to see the most significant evolution in the upcoming 2025/28 strategy.
Our Business plan 2024/25 outlines our approach to the final year of our ‘Advise, Resolve and Learn’ strategy. We will continue to work closely with our partners to deliver solutions rapidly across the system as needed. Our plan remains adaptable so we can respond swiftly to any unforeseen demands placed on our organisation, to ensure we can support the wider healthcare system. We continue to be committed to delivering fair resolution, data-driven insights, supporting better maternity care, and investing in our people and systems.
