In 2024, we are attending a number of external events and conferences. In addition to our various service areas attending a range of these, we have a corporate presence at six key external events and conferences:
- Royal College of Midwives (RCM) Conference: ACC Liverpool, 8-9 May
- Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) National Trainees Conference: Brighton, 20-21 May
- NHS Confed Expo: Manchester Central Convention Complex, 12-13 June
- Health Service Journal (HSJ) Patient Safety Congress: Manchester Central Convention Complex, 16-17 September
- Baby Lifeline’s National Maternity Safety Conference: Hilton Metropole Hotel Birmingham, 26 September
- Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Conference: ACC Liverpool, 3-4 October
Our attendance at these events is underpinned by our strategy. Our focus to 2025 is centred on four strategic priorities:
- Deliver fair resolution
- Share data and insights as a catalyst for improvement
- Collaborate to improve maternity outcomes
- Invest in our people and systems to transform our business
At all of the above events, we look forward to ‘sharing data and insights’, in the form of recent publications and resources, as a catalyst for improvement in the healthcare system, including improvement in patient safety.
In line with our third strategic priority, ‘collaborate to improve maternity outcomes’, our colleagues travelled to Liverpool in May to exhibit at the first of our 2024 events, the RCM Conference. We were pleased to connect with over 100 delegates, raising the profile of NHS Resolution, showcasing our resources, and discussing how these can be utilised to support improvements in the safety of maternity services.
W]e all felt that exhibiting at this key maternity conference, discussing the work we do, and sharing our resources really improved the understanding of our unique role in the NHS and demonstrated the organisation’s strategic commitment to collaborate to improve maternity outcomes.

In May we also attended the RCOG National Trainees Conference, where we were able to highlight our work, especially in the maternity space, and raise awareness of our role, to junior doctors, starting out in their careers within obstetrics and gynaecology.
Most recently, we were in Manchester in June for NHS ConfedExpo, which was attended by over 5,000 professionals working in and external to the NHS. We enjoyed many insightful conversations with delegates and had the opportunity to highlight our Maternity Incentive Scheme, the Early Notification Scheme and Practitioner Performance Advice services.
At Baby Lifeline’s National Maternity Safety Conference in September, we will again be focusing on our third strategic priority and the ways in which NHS Resolution can support the government’s maternity safety ambition.
This year’s theme for the HSJ Patient Safety Congress is ‘honest conversations: creating safety in a system under pressure,’ meanwhile the RCGP Annual Conference brings together common themes such as ‘innovation’ and ‘health inequalities,’ which aligns with our second strategic priority, to share data and insights as a catalyst for improvement.
Our attendance at these events is a great opportunity to meet our stakeholders and direct delegates toward key resources and publications that may be of use to them or their organisation. If you are attending any of the events outlined above, please do come and visit our stand to find out more about the work we do at NHS Resolution. We would be happy to answer any questions.
