NHS Resolution has responded to the Department of Health and Social Care’s Duty of Care review. The review is considering the operation of the statutory duty of candour for health and social care providers in England with the aim to assess the effectiveness of the duty and shape future recommendations.
We are supportive of the consultation and suggest a number of areas for the Department to consider including the benefits of embedding a just and learning culture in the NHS. We highlight key resources to assist the NHS to adopt such a culture including:
