In response to member requests, our Safety and Learning team launched a bimonthly virtual learning forum for clinicians, safety, quality and legal leads in February 2021.The aim of the forum is to spread the learning from claims across our membership.
Each 60-minute forum is set up to focus on a specific clinical claims area. The forum structure includes an overview of the subject area’s claims costs and volumes. Expert speakers are also featured to differentiate risks and to offer both learning insights and solutions that are transferrable locally.
The first two forums focused on the topics of consent and sepsis, attracting delegates from 15 and 24 different health care providers, respectively. Future topic areas include learning from:
· Falls claims
· Pressure ulcer claims
· Primary care claims
· Diabetes lower limb claims
· Medicine errors
